The Fort 2-7-09

Got an early start after checking in with Casey. Drank a cup of coffee and sat in the boat waiting until safe light-- good thing we got up at 4:30, Brian. 
Smooth river, lots of fog.

The ride out the river was soooooo cold. I had so many layers of clothing on that I couldn't put my arms down.
We hoped this red would measure in slot for the tournament, but he was 32". Brian caught him on a bass bait -- thanks John.
Brian also caught a mullet on a spoon! Have you ever heard of such a thing? We saw tons of fish, but the red is the only one that would bite for us. In spite of this fact, we had a great day. The wind was calm and the water was quiet and beautiful. I had fun fishing with my secret weapons -- some jigs that I hand painted. Hope to catch more with them next time.
