Showed up this morning at Econfina to find the parking lot empty, but the water up! Launced and ran out to a creek east of the mouth. We started throwing white scrimp around the bars and found a few small reds, no keepers. We also managed a few nice trout that we reluctantly threw back
With the tide running out, we ran farther up into a creek and a found reds everywhere. The were tailing along the edges and around the bars. They spooked really easily and we couldn't get any of them to bite. We eased back out of the creek and anchored up near a couple of bars to wait out the tide. We found a few more reds and even had a few double hook-ups.....

We sat in this spot for about 2 hours till the tide started to run back in. We eased back up into the creek we were at earlier, and found the reds again tis time....big ones. We immediately hooked up with 2 along the edge of one of the bars. One was 24" and the other 19". We threw back the 19". We managed 7 more keeper reds off this spot and a few nice trout..

With our limit of reds, we decided to run back out to try our luck on the flats. Tried for 15 minutes or so with no hits. We ran to one more creek mouth on the way back in to try for a few minutes before heading back in. We found the trout in there THICK. Over a 45 minute period, we caught 30+ trout with only 2 being short and 6 over 20"
We had 8 double hook-ups. These trout were thick and healthy.....

We left 'em biting and headed back in. Wish we could have stayed longer, but not being able to keep the trout got old to say the least
Beautiful day on the water and a great day of catching fish with a good friend
