The ramp at Shell Point is closed for those (like me) who didn't know.
Went to OB and dropped the sled in the water. Basically a shake down trip for me because the boat has been in the garage for a few weeks. The trolling motor and the steering need to be lubed. Anyway found a lot of hungry trout and the best action was up near Spring Creek (Cutoff Island area). Four trout were 18" or better.
Later in the day finally landed a nice 24" red near Gull Island. Got the stink off the boat for 2009. Water temp was mostly in the 59 range. All fish caught on 5" Gulp Jerkshads. Nothing hit the spoon today.
Brought the cast net but couldn't find any concentrated mullet for anything today. My partner's back was hurting him
so we headed to the house. Sorry no pictures.
