You real salties are probably getting tired of hearing about my Mid GA boat fixing but I do appreciate your experience. Question: Anyone that will share ideas on wiring overhaul? I don't want to waste time and money but I would like to do it right. Some old wiring is useable, all terminal ends need to be replaced, ignition is Ok, Garmin GPS fishfinder and radio work but have been removed and need fresh hook-ups, new bilge and aerator in place. New tank and hoses ready to go. Need everything else replaced due to corrosion. Ideas on connections, fuses, batteries, guages, wires, other?
Boat is 20 ft. '89 Aquasport. Yamaha SWS 200, '01. Fuel tank cover and t-top are off and small console is tilted up for access.
I want to continue the learning and saving money by doing my own work but I really need your suggestions both large and small to finish the job.

Use tinned wire and heat shrink all connections. Get a spade type fuse block with a cover. Something like this...



You should have multiple batteries with a battery switch...

You can also coat your connections with dielectric grease with a cheap paint brush and no salt air can get to them.

Just the kind of stuff I need to know to get it right. I am replacing some of the original lighting fixtures today and looking for a brass fitting to switch from below deck fuel line, through hull to fuel bulb line and on to water separator. After checking out oil tank, I plan to run motor to check for fuel line problems before starting wiring and replacing deck cover. Any ideas on upgrades of any kind? I don't want to be shoulda, woulda, coulda after I am ready to fish. Tom, thanks for getting the ball rolling and that's a fine looking young man from Boston.

Thanks that's my copilot. He should really become a great fisherman this year he will be 9 soon. The grease can be messy but your connections wont corrode. Ever
