What do you guys think about the Tohatsu motors?

I heard they were building the small mercurys. Could be wrong though.

Everything that I've heard was that they are tuff as nails and good on fuel

I know a lot of the oystermen are using them now

Bman had/has one I believe. I think he is/was happy with it. Hopefully he'll chime in.
Webster's Marine carries them.

Creech, I have heard/read the same thing. However, I don't think you will ever convince ole Bellamy to work on it

I'd love to be a fly on the wall and hear what Bo had to say when someone walked in with one of them to get repaired. Heck, I bet you could even hear old Chester rolling over in his grave.

I have a 15 and it has been great.(its an 05)I know a couple other guys with them and the problems are 0.

I have a buddy with a 15 and it has been USED! It is a nice little motor.

I would probably get the same reaction from Bo as I did when I took those Mercury's in to be work on.

I had a nissan(same as tohatsu) 25 for years and it was a great moter. Would do 34mph on a 16' long wide body gheenou with stick steer.

My father "FHC" has been using a Tohatsu for several years now. Best little motor he has ever owned. We both highly recommend Tohatsu!!!
