I've recently been looking at the Minn Kota's saltwater series Riptide. I see several different series identifiers but I haven't been able to determine what the significance of each one is. The following are bow mounts and have the alpha characters assigned: SF, SM, SE, ST, and SP. The ST and SP are remote controlled but other than that I haven't been able to figure out what (if anything) the various letter pairs mean. Can someone bring me up to date on these? Thanks.

Sir Reel, I have been doing research as well trying to pick out my next trolling motor. The model #s do get confusing ,but here is how I understand it.

Bow Mount Hand Controlled: SE, SM, and SF
SE is the compact mount (or edge mount as Chalk pointed out) it is designed to take up less deck space - but it only goes up to 70lb thrust
SM is offered in wide range of thrust options, comes with the bowguard 360 or latch and door mount
SF is the newest model. It has some extra features like lift assist, counter tension stabilizer (CTS), removeable BowGuard 360, and push to test battery gauge.

As far as I know those are the only three current models with hand steering. The others use a foot pedal, co-pilot, and auto pilot. I want the SF, but may settle for the SM.
