Jaden's first report of 2009

Well, here goes. I'm only four years old, but already a seasoned vet in the fishing circles. On Sunday I was able to drag my dad out fishing. He likes to kayak fish a lot, but I'm able to pull him out of the yak a few times a month to go do some real fishing. We hit the ramp near Shell Point at a modest 10 AM. I warmed up the boat while dad parked the truck.
We drove out to the reef to take a quick look-see, but there was nothing going on out there-still a bit early for that. By then, the wind really picked up, so we decided to go try a few spots in closer under some cover. We found the trout closer in around the oyster bars. I picked up a couple nice ones on a DOA shrimp.

I threw the fish back, because we were just on a scout trip today

Dad had my back and was able to keep the boat straight in the now stiff 15 mph breeze. After that, it was getting past lunch time, and dad started getting a bit restless, so we headed for the hill. Not a bad morning of spring fishing
