A new ride

As some of you on here know I've been boatless since September (it's been driving me nuts). I finally got my wife and daughter settled in our new house here in Jacksonville so now it's time for "Daddy" to get a new toy. I have been looking for a small technical poling skiff that would be easy to tow, pole, fish by myself & run with a 40hp or less. I think I finally found what I'm looking for. It's called the CopperHead by Ankona Boats. I've talked to the onwer of Ankona Boats several times and he always has time to answer any questions I might have. He even offered to meet me half way for a water test or send his son to Jacksonville for the weekend with his personal boat so that I could take a ride. I've also talked to several CopperHead onwers and all of them have had nothing but wonderful experiences with the company and they're boats. Below are a few pictures of the latest one out of the factory (picked up yesterday). The boat that I will soon be ordering will be set-up very similar. I'm going with an all white hull with black accents (i.e. poling platform, front casting platform, under gunnel rod holders, etc.). I don't think I'll get the center console/livewell, probably just use my Yeti in the center.

I was wondering if any of you have heard anything negitive about these boats. As I said before all I've been told is positive.

Best part is that the base model (Boat, motor (25hp Yam), & trailer) including poling platform starts around $9,000.

Not bad AT ALL - easy on the eyes and on the pocket!!! :smt007 Think I need to convince the Mrs. that something is just missing between my canoe and 22' bay boat... a slot that CopperHead might fill quite nicely! :-D
