Hey guys new here, but been fishing the big bend area since i was 5, i am gonna be heading over from jax monday morning to do some fishin and wonder how the fishing on the flats have been lately, also have the creeks been producing any nice fish i have a custom gheenoe that can run in 6 in so shallow water isnt a big concern and i know the area to stay away from cause of rocks, i dont really feel like trying to fish the river with the other 100 million people that will be fishing it.
let me know if there has been any reports of fish on the flats yet.
Alex

Last weekend we had a tournament out of Keaton Beach and I believe just about everybody (26 boats) caught trout on the flats as well as the creekmouths. By this weekend the flats should be full of fish that would be my guess. Welcome to the site and keep us posted on your sucess.

WILL DO THANKS FOR THE INFO, I APPRECIATE IT, YEAH KEATON IS WHERE I STARTED OUT YEARS AGO AND THEN DRIFTED SOUTH TO THE HATCH. I WILL POST A REPORT MONDAY IF IT IS GOOD, ANY CERTAIN COLOR GULP THAT YOU KNOW OF THAT IS WORKING BEST RIGHT NOW. IN JAX I DO A LOT OF LIVE BAIT FISHIN BUT WHEN IT COMES TO THE GULF I AM STRICTLY ARTIFICIAL.

I'm not really a Gulp user but if I was gonna use one it would be a 6in gulp jerkshad. We caught most of our fish on hard and soft jerkbaits. As for color anything that resembles a mullet.

Just my .02
