Met Popeye this morning despite the not so promising weather forecast. Knew the wind would be bad, but I had my fingers crossed that we wouldn't see any thunderstorms. No need for sunglasses today.
I caught a keeper trout on the paddle out and saw a lot of action on the water. Rode the tide to some deeper water and the trout bite turned on. Actually, what I should say is that the lower slot trout bite turned on. We caught a lot of trout from 13 to 16 inches.

At slack tide, I thought I'd meander around some skinny water to look for some stragler reds. First cast, landed this guy. Just barely 20 inches.

The water started coming back in, so I fished the grass line and got another with little more meat on his bones.

Not a bad day considering how windy it was. Some of the open water got pretty choppy, and a least I didn't have to worry about getting a sun burn.
