Took my buddy Chewy and a "green horn" that I work with fishing on Saturday. Launched at the Light House and began out run East. The day started out pretty good and we had 6 nice trout in the boat by about 9:00am. Buddy from work had never been on a boat before so it took him a little time to get his footing down, I spent most of the morning chuckling at him as he stumbled this way and that.
The highlight of the day was a 25.5" (4.15lb)trout that slammed my 7" fluke. Thought it was a red for sure until it neared the boat once I saw the fish that panic feeling set in. Chewy netted the fish and into the livewell it went.
We ended up with our 15 Trout limit and were one redfish shy of that limit as well. It was an excellent day on the water and Alex, dude from work, caught a ton of fish. He is now looking to purchase a boat.
The real highlight of the day was at the scales. We weighed our 5 fish and were astonished to watch the scales drop down to 14.5lbs. Did you hear that JT????
Sunday- Nina and I launched at the Light house and ran out for a couple of hours to try to catch some dinner. On the first spot she nails a 24" trout (4.4lbs) her biggest yet.
Good job baby. SHe follows that fish up with a 27.5" Red. THis fish got to go back to be caught another day. My girl kicked my arse as I got skunked.
The winds began to pick up and the fog began to role in so we headed for the hill. It was a great weekend.
