waaaaaay back Reds

Buddy of mine and I headed out the Aucilla as the tide was coming in Sat morning (11ish) We figured we would skip the fog and the early wake-up and it turned out to be a good choice. We rode the tide into the first creek and the further we got back, the better it got. The rockier it got, the better it got. Turned a BIG trout (unmeasured due to a final shake at the boat), multiple undersized reds and a 20" red back and left a healthy 24" and 26.999" in the box. Moved onto creek 2 as the tide was reaching peak and had nothing of the success we had on creek 1. Differences were determined to be 1)depth: creek 1 much shallower (1-3 feet) 2) tide level: cresting in creek 2, and 3) bottom: creek 2 almost all sand and mud, whereas creek 1 was filled with "navigational hazards". Interestingly, creek 1 also had a lot of green moss junk that ended up on the lures if there was not a fish there. All fish caught on spinners with white/pink and EC colors.
Enjoyable day, healthy reds and a safe return.
