Minor Fiberglass Repair / Painting Question

Few years back I epoxied a transducer in the stern bilge pump section of Marine's Dream... fast forward to this week and I'm putting an upgrade depth finder on.

Go to carefully chisel the old transducer off and find removal from the bilge area (about 8" by 12") is a much tougher job than was the original installation :smt010... being extremely careful and with much cursing and acrobatic fanfare, I did manage to get the old puck off as well as the vast majority of epoxy I used. Despite using great care I did chip a bit of paint off the area where the puck was glued down and I want to put my new puck in the same spot, though I may put a wet box in to house the new puck so I can swap out with less pain in the future.

Know I need to sand the fiberglass smooth before putting wet box in, but don't know what kind of protective paint I should use to reseal the exposed fiberglass. Any & ALL advice on painting/resealing the fiberglass will be greatly appreciated!

Epoxy or Polyester resin will be fine....if it is in a closed bilge....if the bilge is open to the sun use polyester resin.
