I thinking of replacing my current trolling motor and I've been giving the remote/wireless models alot of thought.
What's the forum say in the matter? I'm leaning towards the Motor Guide wireless but the Minn Kota SP series looks preety good as well.
Anybody ever had/have one?

I've got a Minn Kota Riptide ST 80 CP/AP (Co-Pilot remote and Auto-Pilot feature) and I've had no problems with it over the last two years. I think it is a matter of preference of where and how you fish that determines what you get. I don't like being confined to the front of the boat when I fish and the Auto-Pilot feature has worked great for me maintaining a slightly forward speed against a good current. Just my 2 cents.

You can't hide money! :smt009 I have a wireless Motorguide and I hated it. There is A LOT to tear up on one of them too. I agree with sticking with a tiller model. I used mine on my aluminum boat and everytime I bumped a rock or a stump it would shut off and you had ro reset it by taking battery leads off. :smt011 Maybe it was a lemon?
