Barkley Friday

Back on Lake Barkley Friday for a few hours. Got on the water about 10:30. Had to pick up a new trolling motor battery. Temps dropped about 10 degrees from the beginning of the week with a high pressure system and blue bird skies setting in today. Winds were 10 - 15. Water temps were any where from 53 - 56 degrees. No current while I was fishing. Beautiful day to be on the water but the bass were not as active compared to the first of the week. 13 bass in the boat today with one coming unbuttoned at the boat. The shad were scattered shallow and most had moved deep to 12 - 14 feet. Nothing of size today so no pics. Nothing on the spinnerbait. Everything caught on a chartreuse Road Runner with a white grub fished really slow on the bottom, a medium running crank bait and two caught on a rattle trap at the end of the day (3:15). Most fish were around submerged vegetation in about 3-4 feet of water. Wish I would have had time to hit one more rocky spot I thought might hold some fish, but left it for next time.

That sounds like a pretty good day to me.
