First Lady Michelle Obama showed up Thursday as a surprise and welcome volunteer at Miriam's Kitchen, a soup kitchen for homeless poor people not far from the White House.
Can't afford to buy food, not when you have to pay for the new cell phone with camera.

I helped with some others from two churches yesterday to move a woman and her granddaughter from the place they lived.
They were evicted and have no home in which to live. She is mentally disturbed possible early onset dimentia age 50.
Her husband died two years ago she is a horder you couldn't walk in her appartment.
She had enough that 4 pic ups and an enclosed trailer could carry between 1/3 to 1/2 of her stuff.
The 1st loads of her stuff filled the storage room she rented it was pretty sad tell you the truth.
Do you ever pause to think how blessed you are to have a home, family mental or physical health?
Are you able to pay your bills did your parents enstill morals and values are you free from addiction?
Do you give those not as fortunate a hand or view them a less and yourself as more?
You are 98 cents worth of chemicals mixed with some water anything other than that is a blessing from God.
The same one that created them also in his image, a few choices and circumstances seperate you and them.
You may walk a mile in some really crappy moccosins before it is over how would you like to be viewed?
Jesus + what = salvation?
Answer is nothing. What He did you could not nor could your mom or dad no buddy or teacher not even a politition.
If you are blessed, bless the one that gave you the blessings, if you are cursed try blessing the one you cursed (God)to begin with.

I can only reply to that in that I went to school, got an education (which is free for all) and then WORKED to get what I have. I have driven basic vehicles all my life, lived simple, and lived in a 950 sq foot house until I was 45.
I have no guilt about what I have now. I have a nice home I paid for. I have no debt. I am 54 and have worked all my life except when I was sick a week or 2 maybe.
I have been laid off, but did not go apply for unemployement or food stamps. I went out and got another job.
When I was in my late 30's, I started my own business, and was successful. I even came through an ex-wife trying to destroy my life and take everyting I had, all the while she was living with her new "boyfriend".
My current wife and I pay 220 per month for health insurance, and she has had some surgeries. Now even though I have insurance, we also have to pay some on the bill. Yet we have a "friend" that had a 3000 dollar bill, and has no insurance "because I do not wanna pay for it" and what do they do? Go fill out some papers and their bill is wiped out totally.
Mad? You're damn right I am. This country is heading toward socialism at an alarming rate, and making hard working folks (like me) say, "What the hell, why work hard?"
The point made by the photo is that folks out there have money to get cell phones, yet go to soup kitchens. If you do not see something wrong with that, then you are part of the problem.
Read this while it lasts, I don't think this thread will last too long.

No matter our circumstance or standing in life, the things accomplished or things left undone, the ground is level at the foot of the Cross ... no man stands higher than another.

D.L. Moody said it best when he penned the words "Except for the grace of God, there go I." He also referred to Christianity as simply "The act of one begger helping another begger find bread." I'm going to do my best and not judge this guy for coming to a soup kitchen and taking a possible once in a lifetime picture of the First Lady serving the needy. However, if he does have the means to purchase a cell phone, then he has the means to purchase his own soup in my opinion. I went to a high school where there was a "free lunch & breakfast" line. There were some needy kids in this line, but the majority always had the nicest shoes, hats, jeans, "bling", etc.... Yet, free school food was expected. It's taught to manipulate the system at a young age and unfortunately it carries over into adulthood. The entitlement mentality in America today is becoming a way of life for way too many people. They'll never get the meaning of true Prosperity..."assuming the burden of responsibility."

Who said they were there to get the soup?
Could they have been workers, are there other explanations?
Many, but you have taken the belief you have to be absolute truth.
While you did so exposed your beliefs just as quickly.
I am not a socialist nor am I for socialism.
I also know that when you assume the worst at all times about people sooner or later your bound to be correct.

Is it just me or does the sign to her right say Mushroom Risotto? That's a pretty up scale soup line.

Google it you can play the movie I did they are trying to be kind to people that have been homeless for on average five years.
Most of the homeless people I have experianced there was a combination of things like mental illness or addiction involved.
Much of America is three or four paychecks away from the soupline or being homeless themselves.
Some have had a air of entitlement not many though. Most had hurts heartbreaks and sorrows that had ensnared them.
Many people have gotten back up after they fell, many have not, to bless those that cannot bless you is good.
She may have been there for a photo op only, is there some chance she is trying to make a difference and lead by example?
