So you want Socialism
Think about this...
An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had
never ever failed a single student, but had once
failed an entire class.
The class (students) insisted that socialism worked
since no one would be poor and no one would be
rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said,
"OK, we will have an experiment in this class on
socialism. All grades will be averaged and everyone
will receive the same grade, so no one is likely to
fail and no one will receive an A."
=============================================
After the first test the grades were averaged and
everyone got a B. The students who had studied
hard were upset while the students who had studied
very little were happy. But, as the second test
rolled around, the students who had studied little
studied even less and the ones who had studied hard
decided that since they couldn't make an A, they
also studied less. The second test average was a D.
No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around
the average grade was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering, blame, and
name calling all resulted in hard feelings, and no
one would study for anyone else. To their great
surprise they all failed, just as the professor had told
them that socialism would ultimately fail.
Need I say more or can you see the way the
country is heading.

What an excellent example of what is going on in the USA.
Never quite heard it put so simply, but yet so truthful.
Now I will add that if the professor had followed the examples of our nation's school systems, he would have just lowered the requirements to pass the tests so even the dumbest would get a passing grade, whether they knew anything or not.

Take all this crap to a politcal forum. It's bad enough this is all you hear all day long every day, but now I come to my favorite fishing forum and have to start all the gloom and doom over again.

I'm staying outta this one, because I'd rather be talking fishing also. But, what the hell is a OFF TOPIC section for then if people can't talk about whatever they want as long as it follows the guidelines of the forum???? Nobody is forced to read or comment on anything posted here...just be polite
I guess it's true what my granddad used to say..."The 2 most divisive subjects are
politics and
religion."

Why don't we all go get some ice cream....
Subject: ...new ice cream flavor....Baracky Road !!
In Honor of the 44th President of the United States , Baskin-Robbins Ice
Cream has issued a new flavor, " Baracky Road ."
Baracky Road is a blend of half Vanilla, half Chocolate, and surrounded
by Nuts and Flakes.
The Vanilla portion of the mix is not openly advertised
And usually denied as an ingredient.
The Nuts and Flakes are all very bitter and hard to swallow.
The Cost is $100.00 per scoop.
When purchased, it will be presented to you in a large
Beautiful cone, but then the Ice Cream is taken away and
given to the person in line behind you.
Thus you are left with an empty wallet, no change, holding an empty
cone, with no hope of getting any Ice Cream.
Aren't you feeling stimulated?

Mudducker, I hate to tell you this but the economics professor just described a Command Economy, that exist in many communist countries. In a socialist country market forces are still at work, however your big businesses, or institutions are heavily regulated by the government; i.e Banking industry, health care, energy, education, transportation and the such. People do not all make the same. Again it does not mean the government owns those businesses they simply try to make them more efficient,(up to a democratic government to make sure that happens) for the good of society as a whole. There are very few Pure Capitalist countries that exist today. Most all economies are moving to economies thay have the features of Market, Command, and Traditional economies. I personally feel as if short run greed in this country, has brought us to were we are now. The professor gave an excellent example of a command economy, but did a very poor job af describing a Socialist country. Here in Tennessee we have been a pilot program for health care we have Tenn. care which allows the working poor, and disadvantage to get health care. It was a disaster at first, but is working well and provides health care to those how normally cannot afford it. believe it or not people are not quiting there jobs to get on it, a myth that exist in this country for some reason. I personally don't believe people strive in this country to be on government assistance. They actually get to work a low paying job and not loose health care for there children. We also have TVA, which has brought a huge amount of industry into this area while providing cheap electricity and high paying jobs. Thanks for calling me out, very interesting.

You need to go down to the local DFACS office and follow some of them around all day. Funny, they seem to be able to do most anything but WORK.

A few years back, my wife was standing in line at a grocery counter. She could see the lady loading the cart up with groceries was using a WIC card. They had some canned dog food on the counter. The clerk told her, "I will have to ring this up seperate because WIC will not pay for it."
The lady gave her son the cans, told him to take it back, and get 2 pounds of ground beef.
Now, where do you think that ground beef went? And who paid for it?

I assume this is the same Tennessee that gave us Al Gore and the colossal global warming hoax? Sad....and now they have "another" program for health care?
The state must be getting some carbon footprint fee kickbacks or taxpayers are getting soaked yet again!
Sorry but there is truth and then there is everything else....sadly everything else gets the most press!
