South Georgia Outdoors Thank You

Appreciation and kudos to Heath and SGO for once again being our primary sponsor of the Red Hills English Cocker Field Trial. This is the 5th year of the event and SGO stepped up with major prizes for our winning teams. These cockers have become a major player in the duck blinds, quail woods and dove fields over the past 8 years. They are dynamite little hunting dogs. Hunters have 10 minutes to find, flush, harvest and retrieve 5 quail in the trial. The winning dog/gun combo did so in under 3 minutes

This is a family event and this year we had well over 100 folks which was nice considering the drowned out roads. 56 dogs ran in 3 divisions. Great fun, lots of shooting, dead birds, happy dogs. Since this is a fishing site primarily it is fitting that I mention the famous tarpon movie producer ran his dog again this year.

A few pics for Heath to prove we actually had a trial and I didn't run off with the loot :smt005

Pretty dogs ! I love them spaniels.. Do you class a Boykin as a Cocker Spaniel ? Got a little male that rides the wagon. You don't hardly lose a downed bird when he hits the dirt..

Sundown, you ought to come run him next year. We had both springers and cockers this year
