Maybe I'm worth more alive than dead... :)
She started getting nervous after the Clearwater incident. I do love her!

I have been told that registered or not...if it broadcast a signal a CG alert goes out to BOLO. They do not respond until you are 48 hours overdue..

Find that rumor hard to believe, kinda defeats the purpose...

According to the Coast Guard the do call all the contact info you used during registration to make sure its not a false signal. House, cell, wife, family, etc... once they determine you are in fact on the water (or not at the contact info provided) they are dispatched. Estimated dispatch time for SAR after verifying contacts, is 1.5-4 hours..... or so I read... hope to never test the internet info...

That was just for you JT.

But as we recently learned, you can be a hundred yards off the beach and drown. Wear your PFD when your on the water, and if you don't like the way it fits, buy an inflatable one.
