Big Bend Tea Party!

Pam and I made time this evening to attend the Tallahassee Tea Party. Found it quite rewarding to see so many other like-minded people as well as to meet a number of servicemen equally angered by Homeland Defense Secretary Janet Napolitano's insulting comments against our miltary issued in her report on 4-14  :smt011 .

Versus writing too much, a sin for which I'm often guilty I'll let the pictures speak for themselves

End with just a few short notes... VERY little press presence at the event. Surprise, sur-dang-prise :smt012 ... though my humble opinion is that the lack of willingness to give press to the collective massing across our great land is a strategy that will backfire in the end. Last but FAR from least, after leaving the party we quickly drove down to Econfina and dumped over 1,000 gallons of tea into the river... don't believe me? Go this weekend and see if the water isn't still stained!!!

Hmmmm....a bunch of gun-toting, right wing, conservatives gathered together. Not to mention God-only -knows how many veterans (most likely bitter and unbalanced)! Me thinks this could be a potential domestic terrorist gathering. Wait a few years and Department of Homeland Security will be there with tear gas and rubber bullets to handle this type of terroristic threat!

Thanks, great report. We better be careful though, because Uncle Sam is monitoring this site and will put all of us in this thread in the "dangerous" category. I am just as dangerous as Patrick Henry!

Few extra notes -- the anger at Napolitano targeting servicemen, Christians, pro-lifers, and pretty much anyone with strong moral beliefs as potential terrorists didn't go unnoticed by others in the crowd. Saw at least three other former servicemen with signs declaring their new status as terrorists. salute1

And on a humorous note, had a friend in Tennessee who sent a few pics from his local tea party and two were great.

"GOD HIMSELF only asks for 10%!"

"Don't forget to pay your taxes! 21 million illegal aliens are depdending on YOU!"

And yeah, Birddog, gotta say I'm a big fan of the "DON'T TAX ME BRO!"" sign too! :-D :smt005

Kind to hard to read the sign, but like the one next to "DON'T TAX ME BRO!" too.

"PARTY LIKE IT'S 1773!"

The lack of a comment by Jumptrout is obvious now....
He is an AARP / Social Security Administration mole send here to observe us.

I heard this morning that there was a pretty good one in Thoimasville last night as well.
On a slightly funny note, WALB out of Albany reported last night at 11:00 PM that the Post Office was going to close at 5:00 yesterday, so if you needed to mail your charity check you were screwed.

Should of had that party 6 years ago when the last administration was driving a 5 trillion dollor debt to 11 trillon. But, of course I was unpatriotic to even mention it with a Republican president in office. Hypocracy in motion. This is all too funny.

Political posts are like gulp to a pinfish for us, aren't they TN? :-D

Joking aside, you're off base as I didn't say a word about Obama (did I now) nor a word about Bush. Didn't mention a political party either. You take a look at my voter registration card and it will say "no party affiliation", and funny thing is that yesterday I spoke with MANY in the crowd who also were expressing anger at both parties. And in fairness to a few select Democrats, I saw some footage yesterday of Democrats speaking about the need for spending to be brought under control too.

Laugh if you want, but anger many are casting at the current administration is due to the administration openly and avidly saying they want to SPEND MORE and TAX MORE on those who succeed in order to pay for ever-increasing social programs... no debating that one if you've got ears. All on the far left who want to turn this into a Republican only movement are QUITE mistaken and as I said in my first post, failure to cover the angst that many of us independent folks are feeling right now is something I will bet won't payoff in victories for liberal causes come 2010 elections, and may push independent candidates to run if the Republican party isn't willing to make a more agressive move to greater fiscal conservatism.

Again, my favorite sign - GOD HIMSELF only asks for 10% If you're as devoted to the stimulus effort as it sounds, though, TN, I've got a whopper of a tax bill I'll gladly let you help pay if you so desire to spread a bit of your own wealth

No, you did not mention Obama, but like under Clinton. The only time Republicans really push for Fiscal conservative ideology is when a Democrat is in office. We know who started this Tea Party idea, Former house leader R - Dick Armey. Who had know problems pointing fingers at Democrat's when they did not want to send Bush the money he would ask for. By the way any of you look at your paychecks this week, should be a little bigger. Thanks to Obama's tax cut..
