Keaton Beach 4/18; Bad Things Happen In Three (or Four)

I had my camper at the house since December and decided it was time to take it back to Keaton. Get things settled in Friday evening and to bed. Get up early Saturday with the intention of seeing the sun rise from the water. Get to the gas station and start filling up my tank. Go inside to get ice and a guy filling his boat up and asks if I knew I was using diesel 
(#1). Head back to the camper and drain about 6 gallons of diesel/reg gas. While removing the gas tank, I broke my bilge pump (#2). Finally on the water by 0900. At about 0930, I caught a nice size lady fish with a brand new $15 sebile. It was raising cain when I reached down to grab it and the fish launched upward sending one of the hooks in my finger. The fish was thrashing around while I was trying to remain calm and gain control of the situation. Finally got a handle on the fish, removed the remaining hooks, cut the line and sat down pondering what to do. Made a couple attempts at pulling the hook out, but no joy.....only pain (#3) Decided I wasn't ready to go in yet, so I cut the hook with a pair of pliers, retied the sebile and the very next cast was cut off, by a blue or another lady fish, I suppose.
Decided to head south of the channel thinking 3 bad things have already happened this morning, so I should be good to go. Set up a drift in about 4' of water and about 20 minutes later hooked a nice sized blue. As I got it close to the, one of my recently purchased fishing poles breaks (actually just collapses) near the base. Managed to net the fish, then realized that was NUMBER 4! DAYUM!
About 12:30, I decided I'd had enough; that I needed to get to a medical facility. Made a couple more half-hearted attempts at pulling the hook, but again, no joy...only more pain. Headed in with one keeper trout, 2 blues (released), several short trout, a hook in my finger, a broken bilge pump and a broken pole.
Get to the ER and it was empty. Dr. was not impressed with my cutting off the hook and continuing to fish, and said he needed some x-rays to check the angle and depth. After viewing the x-rays, he decided he needed to cut my finger open to get the hook out. Numbed my finger, extracted the hook and stitched me up. Headed back to the hospital with my new souvenior (sp?).
Small but painful.
Get back to the camper around 4:00 and decided I'd had enough for the day. Decided to enjoy some cold
, cook some hamburgers and hot dogs and watch some movies I rented. Got up early this morning, cleaned up and headed home.
Can't wait til the next trip!!!!

Neat, simple, little device the nurse used to wrap it. Looked like a cylinder, took about a minute and was a perfect wrap. Somebody made some money with that little invention.
