PICS ADDED

I arrived at the yacht club a little before five and met John Vickers. We set every thing up for regerstration and started signing teams up at 5:30. The weather was not to bad, just a 15 to 20 mile per hour wind out of the south east. Waves around 3-4, water look like coffee. Other wise a perfect day for fishing. After signing up 17 teams, John and I went fishing.

I fished the east flats out if St. Marks. All my team could catch was short trout and a hardhead. Other teams found the fishing to be hard also. All tournament species were caught but no one team was able to land all five species (Speckle Trout, Spanish Maclerel, Black Sea Bass, Lady Fish and Blue Fish).

At 3:30 John and Jerry Moore started the weigh-in. Most of the teams had some fish and the top three teams were less than a pound apart.

After the weigh-in a raffle was held for door prizes with ever one getting a door prize. Prizes range from rods, coolers ( both soft and hard side coolers), Bass assassin and East Texas Big Bass Lures to gift certificates for local restaurants and spas and other assorted fishing items.

After the raffle we went upstairs to the dinning room for a fish fry consisting of fried fish, and home made grits souffle, cold slaw, hush puppies and Keylime pie.

All of you tournament fishermen be alerted that a new top dog is on the road. Jackson Keels team of Jackson, Tom Keels and Sonny Blanton took first place honors with a total of 6.56 lbs. This included the 3.77 lb Spanish Mackerel caught by Jackson to win top honors in th youth division. Tom and Sonny better get on the stick or Jackson may find some new partners.

Second place honors went to Eddie and Michelle McCord with 5.99 lbs.

Third place honors were taken by the team of Lance Rodan, Bob Hoezel, Mike Whitehead and Mark Boutin with 5.73 lbs.

Second place youth honors was taken by Andrew Stinson.

Third place youth honors went to Will Bishop.

Sorry to be so late with this post, but I still have not figured out how to post pictures. Will follow with pics when I figure it out. You know the old saying "can't teach and old dog new tricks". I'm finding that to be true more and more every day.Image

Andrew and I had a great time. We still haven't found a good recipe for Ladyfish though?
