5/1
Hit the water late Friday (9am... late for me) with some work pals and wanted to head offshore but NOAA once again had it wrong.. wind was too windy... these 2 guys haven't fished in years (20+) so I let them trout fish while i caught a couple pins for the flatlines... i fished for bait for an hour with 3 to show for it.. we moved south all day looking for clear water and never found it.. finished the day with 1 20"/18"/16" trout and 3 non-productive pin fish.

5/2
Took the wife, son, mother-in-law/sister-in-law and nephew out to boat ride and play.. finally got my 3 year old his first fish (nice pin on a Zeb 33 - - - - last trip out I HUNG HIM A BABY GROUPER, HE TURNED THE HANDLE 4 TIMES, DROPPED THE ROD AND SAID "TOO HARD!" so i was happy today) he also got a few little fish to go with it..

what surprised me was we caught 4-5 doz pin fish in an hour today after we couldn't find a 4th one yesterday... may have been the gizzards today as opposed to old 4x's frozen squid yesterday.... wind really started kicking around 1:30 so I took them up the river on a ride... I did get some good shots of 3 porpoise riding my wake - 3 foot from my transom for a while.. the kids loved that- first for me to, that close and that long!

A couple of days on the water is always good. Time with the family, even better. Glad your son caught one.

Have you ever tried a Sabiki rod for them pins? I started using one a few years ago. Tip the hooks with a little piece of Gulp and fill thge live well in no time.

I used to use a little bream rod, but now I can catch 4-5 at a time.

Time on the water is good. Time with that yacht set up would be better. 8)
