Joel called me lastnight and said he wanted to sneak in a quick fishing trip while he was still in town. He did pretty good at the Harbor the other day, so we met this morning at Sun and Sand. There was a lot of traffic around, so we headed to Oyster Bay.

The wind was blowing pretty good at AH, but this is what OB looked like.

We both started throwing topwater and and Joel got first blood on a Papa dog.Image

We chased a school around for a few minutes, but nothing else would bite. We continued to fish the grassline and I layed into a nice overslot fish but he shook my weedless spoon at the yak. I was pissed. We move on and a airboat cruises by us and camps out on a oyster bar for five minutes then takes off. Still pissed, we start talking about our spot was ruined. Next cast, I catch a 25 incher, airboat somewhat redeemed. Image

We head back to the landing and some lady asks me if its ok to keep sea turtles because some idiot had caught two and they were in the bed of his truck?!? Trying not to kick his ass, we politely removed the turtles and put them back in the water. Leaving me with the conclusion that some people should not be allowed to reproduce.

It was nice to get some decent weather for a change.

Man, that yakin' looks to be the way to go! I'm gonna rent one for a day to see if I can do it too. I just worry about comfort.

FCKA is hosting a demo day in conjunction with some of our local dealers in June. There will be a lot of boats to try out. I'm sure Suber will post something about it on bigbend before the event.

They weren't the brightest looking folks. I guess they were going to eat them?
