East Bay 5-25-09

Quick trip to East Bay this morning with a friend. Plan was to live bait fish. This time I remembered the bait tank... But the bait would not work with us. Found some threadfin herring but they were in deep water and my net just would not sink fast enough to catch them. Just placed a bid on ebay for a heavier net.
After searching about 6 bayous for bait we gave up and just started throwing topwater. Missed the best part of the morning looking for bait so only ended up with one keeper out of about a dozen trout. Had to throw back three that were 14.99999999". One 16" red. Found our trout both shallow and deep.
