:o When do they start showing up? Thinking of doing a little swimming at Keaton to try out the new ladder. Wonder if we might see some scallops yet. :-D

I was at Keaton last Sunday with Ddb fishing south of the channel, spent a couple of hours looking when we were in some 3-4' water and saw a grant total of ONE scallop. Did see quite a few late last fall so may be they've moved deeper due to the fresh water from all the rain we're been getting lately. BTW, when are you heading out again? I'm thinking of giving it another try this saturday.

Usually see some year round, but I think Breambuster nailed this one ... too much fresh water. I looked in St. Joe Bay a little this weekend in a "gasp" kayak, but didn't see the first scallop there either. :smt009

I did survive the kayak encounter, but just barely. :smt005

We are planning on sunday but may come sat instead. Do they stay around all year? Did you take pics sunday? I love your reports.

I was out on my kayak 2 weeks ago, just north of Dekle Beach, I drifted over a large group of scallops. They're here, they're just not real big yet.

That was the ground zero last year.

I did see a few more yesterday but they were in deeper water at low tide.
