Boat Price?

I finally have my wife almost completely :) on board for the purchase of a boat. I found one that I think is a decent deal. Here's all of the info I have on it so far...

04 Hewes 18 Redfisher in "outstanding condition" & "well maintained"
Engine f115 Yammy - 69 hours
Yamaha multi function guages
Release well
Polling platform
Stiffy pushpole
GPS (not sure what kind)
Minnkota trolling motor w/foot pedal
6' powerpole
Single axle aluminum trailer

Assuming the boat is in outstanding condition what would be a good first offer? They are asking $24k for it, and it's being sold through a dealer. I'll be able to see the boat next week and will wet test it if we decide to make an offer. This would be my first motor boat so any hints or questions I should ask would be appreciated.

Thanks

24K seems a litle high to me. I would offer 18K. There are a lot of good deals out there.

Oh hell no, 24 is way too much. go in slinging elbows, it's a buyers market.

Capt Trey Landry in Apalach has his maverick for sale. Older with new VMax, but definitely well equiped and with plenty of Mojo. I think I heard he was asking just under 10k. Call the folks at Scallop Cove BP

Thanks for the replies. I'll offer $18k firm (or is that still too much), and if wants anymore than that I'll move on.

x2

For that kinda money, there are quite a few dealers that would be saying "Let's Make A Deal" and get new with the warranties attached. Dem folks be looking for buyers.

I agree. That boat is 5 years old. A lot can happen in five years. Warranties are good and if you are willing to pay that price, you could probably make a fair offer on a new boat. Good luck!
