Corey and I got to the ramp about 6:30. Put in and headed out the river. Set GPS heading for a couple bars but couldn't see them d/t the very stained water. Started fishing the area where the bars should be and w/in 10 mins. we picked up a 24" Red and a couple of shorts. Moved to new area, where we caught the first keeper Trout. Then the fishing got tough, trying to get any bait past the sharks, catfish, small grouper, rock bass, lady fish, small cobia and even gar. Eventually, we did manage to catch our limit in Trout but with no stellar Trout. Only Trout over 20" was a gymnist, while being measured done a couple of flips, summersaults and back into the water it went...oh well. Getting late, heading in and just out the mouth of the river we seen a bunch of Reds and couldn't resist casting at them. On Corey's 1st cast, a nice Red engulfed his lure. After 12 mins. we get him in the boat and he measured 29" took pictures and released. Now running late for weigh in we started in again. Ended up weighing in 5 fish a little over 8 lbs. Congrats to Warrior and Nicole and CC and BB for a nice stringers of fish.
Has me re-thinking next weekend's strategy
