Plants for Donations

If anyone here knows of a "non profit charitable" organization that has a need for evergreen plant materials for a project, and can provide vertification of their charitable status, I may be able to help put you in touch with a whole sale nursery grower with over stock that's too nice to throw away and are willing to give it to the appropriate charities. The plants could be used as a raffle to raise money or an actual planting project. The plants would be free but transportation would be up to the organization.

Available materials include:

Wax leaf ligustrum - 3 gal
Japanese boxwood - 3 gal
Ruby loropetalum - 3 gal
'Spring Bouquet' viburnum - 3 gal
Ocala anise - 3 gal
Indian hawthorne, dwarf white - 3 gal
Carissa holly - 3 gal
Dwf yaupon holly - 1 gal

Please do not ask for personal requests. I will not be the one approving requests; that will be up to the wholesaler. I'm just trying to help fellow club members who may be personally involved with an organization that may need this type of donation for a good cause.

Please PM requests

Do you want NFGFC to have a plant sale to benefit the club? Don't think that's exactly the charity type they had in mind
but I'll be happy to see what I can do if you're serious.

Sea Gurl,
Are the plants still available? If so the Gadsden County Humane Society would gladly sell them to raise funds for needy animals. Please contact my wife billiejblaine@yahoo.com with details. She can put you or whoever in touch with the appropriate person for credentials, receipts, etc.

Thanks,

Many of the schools have nature trails, classroom gardens, etc. You could check with the local schools near the nursery. If you need the name of some of the schools that we know that has nature trails and classroom gardens in Thomasville, I can get those to you.
