I teach health economics at FSU. I assigned a reading and then gave a little quiz the next day. I asked what was wrong with the character in the book and did she ever recover. One of my students who did not do the reading wrote, "She had anal glaucoma and didn't see her ass ever feeling better again."

Obviously your student has time to read e-mail and incorporate those e-mails into excuses for not doing the assignment.
Tell her on Monday that you contracted anal glaucoma over the weekend and you can not see yourself giving her a passing grade.
