Fly fishing the Panhandle

I did a little fly fishing in the panhandle last week. What a wonderful place. I called this place home.

This was my weapon of choice.

Arrived at the flat my first day to bright sunny skies and thats the way it was for all five days.

Even had some company one day a local guy who's well known. I let him drive on the way in and he soaked me... while he stayed bone dry.

Fishing/hunting was the goot. Several blowups..pulled tight on a few and enjoyed one prolonged fight. My first hookup on fly was unreal. In a matter of seconds my prey was several hundred yards away doing things my dreams are made of. I didn't get my flyline cleared and ended up with a nasty knot. I tried several times to get it out. I think in my last attempt I burred the fly line trying to loosen the knot with my teeth. I didn't want to muck up my rod so I gave in tried to pull the fish to the top and snap a pic. In this attempt I put to much pressure on my fly line and it gave way at the knot. Oh well the fish was probably worn out and I was def worn out . It was a wonderfull week of hunting the prey.
