I have a Motorguide 82 lb 24V Trolling Motor that suddenly quit Saturday after I had been running it on high for 3-4 minutes coming out of a creek. I checked the connections since it was only the second trip w/ new batteries but that wasn't the problem so I'm assuming a fuse somewhere has blown. Changing out the group 27 batteries under the console bout whipped me a couple weeks ago, I'm not really looking forward to spending much more time under there trouble shooting. Anyone have any suggestions on where to start?

If done correctly the fuse or breaker should be in-line right at the battery connection "if a breaker, just press the reset" If it's not right there, it could be anywhere or not have one at all check the connections at the plug also

start by looking for 24v on the plug mounted in the front.....do you have it wired for 12/24 or straight 24...if straight 24 I believe its pins 2 & 3 if using a standard plug.....the 24v digital trolling motors are know for the "board" going out thats located in the foot....when you turn the trolling motor on do you here the Audible "click" in the foot???

I hear no "click" in the foot when it is turned on.

if you have access to a volt meter, test the plug at the front of the boat...are you set of for 2 wire or 3 wire.....most likely 2 wire....I have the same trolling motor, my boat was pre-rigged for trolling motor, 1 red, 1 orange, 1 black wire,,, I opted to wire mine for straight 24v....so I used just the red wire and the black wire at the plug at the front of the boat....but either way, you should be able to measure from the "black/ground wire at the front of the boat to either of the other 2 wires and get a voltage reading,,,,,if not, it's in your wiring, either a fuse/fuse block/fuseable link or breaker is in line and has opened........if you have 24v at the front plug, it's in the trolling motor and will require to be taken to a shop...as I mentioned, that motor has a history of the circuit board working loose in the foot, the fix sometimes is as simple as reseating the board and adding some hot-melt glue to the bottom to prevent it from movingf again...or it could also be the "slow-start" portion of the electronics that went out.....

Start with measuring the voltage at the plug and let us know what the readings are....

I finally got around to checking and I have 25v on my voltmeter at the plug so I guess I need to take it in for service . Anyone have any suggestions on who to take it for service?

This is the only place that I know of. I took mine in yesterday and got it back today. Had to get the control board replaced. They are open from 7a-2p but the fellow says he normally gets in to work earlier.
