How many of you can afford to take or send your kids on a European Summer vacation?

President Obama reports that daughters Sasha and Malia are having a great time in Moscow during the second international swing of their summer vacation.

ABC's Jake Tapper asked Obama if Sasha and Malia were having fun in Moscow.

"You know they're great travelers. Sasha was walking down one of the halls of the Kremlin yesterday. She had her trench coat on, had her pockets in her trench coat. We called her Agent 99; she just looked like she knew where she was going. I thought she was going to pull out her shoe phone," Obama said.



Sasha, 8 and Malia, who turned 11 on July 4, visited London and Paris last month. Their summer vacation includes sightseeing in Russia, Italy and Ghana, traveling with their folks, grandmother Marian Robinson and godmother, Eleanor Kaye Wilson.

I'm sure Jenna and Laura would have gotten to do the same thing except their dad would have said they look like 2 of the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders instead of agents

Really??? The president of the United Stated travels all over the world. I'm pretty sure his kids are allowed to travel with him. How offensive is it for his kids to visit the Kremlin or the Vatican, etc...?

Yep, I see absolutly nothing wrong with him taking his family on these trips we all would if we could and besides, he's just letting them see what he envisions the US being like before he leaves office

You would think he might be more interested in the threats by North Korea, and Iran, rather than trying to disarm our military with Russia.

Now I disagree with nearly 100% of Obama's policies, but I don't see a thing wrong with taking your kids with you on a trip like this when they are out of school anyway.

But why am I paying for Big Mama and God Mama to go?

I would feel better if I thought the expenses were coming out of his salary but I feel certain that he's not using his earnings to afford such a trip.

No problems with taking a vacation or taking the kids on vacation, but extending the family and expense on our dime is somewhat bothersome.

It isn't just Big Mama and God Mama that is bothering me.

More of a "practice what you preach" thing. Your administration's telling everyone times are tough (and due to your misjudging things likely to get tougher), telling everyone it's time to make financial sacrifices for the good of the country, then you dang sure ought to understand it ain't going to sit well with others when you're filmed night after night living high on the hog.

Most of you are getting to the point I was making without saying so.
Screw Russia,Ghana,Italy and the rest of them.
We have serious problems at home to deal with. Not the least is the first lady drinking champagne and eating lobster every night.
Let's get off the NAFTA bullshit and bring the jobs back home. Get off the European trade agreement and bring jobs back home. Mainstream U.S.A. has had to live on credit the past 15 years because of the job market sent out of country and the give-away-prorams to the ill incomed.
