Riverside Cafe Question

Post by Welby »

I think that's the right name of the restuarant in St. Marks on the river, Anyway I had a buddy ask if they are still open and I was not sure. I told him that I would post the question and get an answer. If not, is there any other place on the river to get a lunch ? Maybe Shell Island or Sheilds ? Any advice would be appreciated. We are thinking of taking a trip up the Wakulla River and can take sandwiches but thought having lunch on the river would be an option.

Riverside is still there, open and overpriced  The food is good, just not for the price. Then again, there isn't much else to choose from down there....

I've only eaten at Riverside in ST Marks...are any of the other places any good? Also...what about the place where 98 crosses St. Marks? There is a oyster bar there- anybody ever check it out?

there is also a good bbq place across the street from riverside. Good pulled pork sandwich and great ribs and chicken. Not on the water like riverside though. Riverside has a really good hamburger if you want something a little less expensive than their seafood. I believe 2 Nichols is closed right now. Something about the owner serving 30 days. then there is Jimmy's about half way to the blinker light on the right. Steaks and seafood. Ribeye is really good.

If you really want a good meal try the cast net. Try their special grouper I forget what they call it but it is great. Go north from 98 on the woodville highway towards tally. Just past Savannahs on the left. Savannahs has a good breakfast buffet.
