Cobia from the Kayak
I met some friends early with the intentions of going after some cobia on some nearshore wrecks. It was a beautiful morning, and after catching some pinfish, we headed to spot #1. I had a pinfish out for a few short minutes, when the drag starts singing and I'm doing the cobia shuffle in the yak. The first fish went about 20 lbs. CapnCrunch also caught a short cobia on that spot, so two fish out of the 10 I saw wasn't bad.
Crunch's cobe
We then made a short paddle over to spot #2. Crunch immediately hooks up with a BIG fish which pulls down into the rocks, and he never manages to pull it out. I threw my bait in the same area while he was trying to get his off the bottom. A nice cobia picks mine up, and a few minutes later, I pull up this nice 30 pounder
It ended up being a great day on the water catching some fish and bending some rods. We also brought home two nice cobia. I'm thinking about a trip over to Panama City to catch some kings on the beach from the kayak.

Congrats! Sounds like a great time. I'm full of envy. What waters were you fishing, not spots, just general area?

Maybe a trip to the land down under to fish the Great Barrier Reef for some White Sharks.

Man that's awesome! Here I thought I was the $h!7 cause I hooked a little cobe earlier this year on my yak, but I didn't even land it. Nice work!!!
