How far out from the St. Mark's Lighthouse do you have to go to find grouper? How deep?

Go 100 yards from the lighthouse and drop anchor. Fish from .5 to 3 feet and you should catch all of the grouper you want on a 3 inch GULP! ;-)

Dang, Natureboy. I read your response and thought Jumptrout51 had replied.

SeaBass, there is no good answer for your question. The best answer I can give you is that it depends on the time of year. In the moderately cold months you can catch grouper in 20 feet of water. This time of year they might be between 40 and 75 feet deep. Look at your chart and see what that equates to. You can get to deeper water quicker if you launch from Carabelle, or points further west.

Can't tell the spot but me and Onekeeper went out of Aucilla, it was in late November and caught our limit of very nice Grouper and big rock bass and a couple of 33+ inch reds in 12 - 14ft. on CD14's.
