We were the second boat to launch around 6:45….Kinda cool heading out, but I survived…..Headed out the mouth to our redfish hole…..Spot one and spot two produced no takers, but the third one produced a fish like creature  ….Then spot four produced another fish like creature  ….Fish like creatures are synonymous with feathers at a dove shot  …..Two drag taking reds and only lips to show for it  …..Decided we needed to head to the trout patch…..Saw some boats out between the mouth and Hickory mound. Headed over and the first drift produced several three fish at one time scenarios, only me and my dad were in the boat :o . Ended up making three or four drifts, had nine keepers, moved more towards Hickory and finished out the limit…Ended the day with about 35-40 trout (threw probably 5 keepers back, lost several keepers too) and one flounder, almost a Inshore slam, maybe next time. Woodpecker SWA produced the most fish, space guppy second, and a few on new penny, gold shiner and elec. chicken. A few on top water too……

Off swanning around New Orleans, getting an eyeful from the local crumpet, then back home, a day off work and a good fishing session.
You must have a good job, Chalk.

A limit on trout, but the reds seem a bit scarce, is that general this Autumn ?

Good Job!! It sounds like the old stompin grounds are picking back up again. I am headed that way Tuesday and Saturday.

Two Questions???

What was the most productive water depth?

Do you know if anybody was doing anything towards Rock Island?

I'm taking a first timer out on Saturday from Atlanta, would appreciate any help to make it a productive trip.

Thanks SouthernUndertaker

Chalk, how was the water clarity at icky? I been itchin to get back out there, but was so dissapointed in this past summer, that I've been fishing elsewhere here lately. I know that the water around St.Marks and Shell Point, have improved dramatically over these past few weeks, but could still use some work.
Thanks, Fish Masterson
