I am ashamed to say this happened in my home town.
However, this is very funny..
MAN REPORTS HIS MARIJUANA STOLEN
MOULTRIE — A Moultrie man reported Tuesday several items were stolen from him as he was passed out. Shortly afterward, he was arrested after he was found passed out.
William Richard Gandy, 52, of 1160-B R.L. Norman Road in Norman Park, was charged with public drunkenness (third offense).
Moultrie police officers were called to a house on Eighth Street Southeast at 9:21 a.m. Tuesday about a theft. The officers met with Gandy, who stated a thief stole a one-ounce package of marijuana
, a 30-pack of Budwiser beer
, a package of Bugal tobacco and $70 cash while he was at the house between 6 p.m. Monday and 9:21 a.m. Tuesday. The value of the stolen items was about $134, and Gandy gave officers the names of a female suspect and a male suspect.
One of the suspects in the incident told the officers Gandy was allegedly passed out in the bathroom when the theft took place. She told the officers Gandy spent the $70 cash on marijuana and beer, and he was left in the bathroom to sleep off the effects of allegedly using them.
After the officers left the house, a third officer was called to Fifth Avenue Southeast at 10:48 a.m. about an intoxicated person who had passed out. The officer found Gandy unconcious in a grassy area in between the roadway and a sidewalk.
Gandy told the officer he had been drinking after being awakened, and the officer allegedly smelled the odor of alcohol and Gandy was slurring his speech and was unsteady standing. The officer placed Gandy under arrest, concerned he would fall into oncoming traffic and be injured. He was taken to Colquitt County Jail.
