If you have been anywhere near sports news this morning, you have seen highlights of LeGarrette Blount, the University of Oregon running back decking a Boise State player with a right hand after the game. After landing the haymaker, and back pedaling cowardly (helmet on the whole time), he doesn't stop. Afterwards, he carries on like he's going to fight the whole crowd..

Call me crazy, but what was the difference between that and what hockey players get a few minutes in the penalty box for? The dumbazz taunting him after the game will be fine. If you're gonna talk trash, be able to back it up and don't turn your back like a wuss after saying what you gotta say. The biggest deal of all this is that it was caught on tape in front of a national audience. If this would have happened in the locker room or parking lot and not been caught on tape, not much more than a suspension would have occured. It has tarnished Oregon's reputation and they are just handling the PR end of it like everyone thinks they should. Blount should have not thrown the punch....but hey, isn't football a contact sport

I wish I had some of our old high school football scraps from the mid 80's on tape......Rickards & Suwanee just about became a fight where a football game broke out

Because when I watch a game like that with my 6 year old (in his second year Pop Warner tackle footbal), I want him to see class on the field. It's a privilege to play college football. Problem with today's players is they are not worried about the ramification of their actions and what their coaches will do for punishment.
Agreed that idiot deserved a smack in the mouth for taunting Blount, but on the field you let him know you will be looking for him in the parking lot if he wants to discuss it further.
