This past Sunday afternoon, My Mother drove up from Frostproof to spend one night with us before She took off the next morning for Missouri. She pulled in just before My Wife and I returned from the evening church service. After a few minutes of getting her settled, I took her car (2006 Mercury GM) up to the corner convenience store to gas it up for her so she wouldn't have to do it the next morning. I drove in, got out, filled it up, and discovered that the vehicle locked itself with the keys in the igntion. :( Since I had no idea what the key pad code was, I was in a fix. I called the house and told the wife what had happened. She ask Mom "what's the code".... Silence ... Mom says "I don't remember, I always take the keys when ever I get out" :-?
The wife comes and picks me up and we return to the house with calling a lock smith in mind and the associated hassel and expense (Sunday night) that would certainly be associated with that experience. Then I decided to try one call to someone that I thought might know how to get in to the vehicle before I contacted a locksmith. It's now around 8pm and I give Fred Jones Parkway Car Care/ Parkway Marine a call. I ask a couple of questions to see if he knew how to find the code, etc. He ask me...CAN I FINISH MY SANDWICH? I said, SURE...I'm just getting in from church and I haven't eaten either. So, after we both finished our sandwich, he called me back and said, I'm on the way, I'll meet you there. I left and he was there within 5-10 minutes...and had the door open in another 10 minutes with nothing broken or damaged. Fred had obviously been working most of the day from his appearance and I said, OK, I want to pay you. Fred gave me one of his famous grin's and said...I BET YOU DO. :D then put away his tools and waved as he left.

I've used Fred and his services for most of the 20 years I've been in Tallahassee. He's good folks! You can find somebody cheaper...but you'll never find a more honest business or one that puts more integerty into the service they provide. THANKS FRED!

I've got a couple of other stories I could share...this ain't the first time he's gone above and beyond. If you ever need any service for car or boat he's my recommedation!

SirReel, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. But did you learn how to get in the locked car?
I've heard there have been incidents with persons on this forum who could obviously use the knowledge of how to break into locked vehicles due to temporary loss of keys or misplacement of memory .. or is the way other around... :o
