Stimulus package

Does anyone have any idea when the Obama stimulus package is supposed to take effect in North Florida?
It has been 10 months since he was sworn in and swore that the stimulus package would be forthcoming and spur the economy.
To date all I see is more independent business people going out of business, laying people off and going bankrupt.
Fortunately I am a one man business with loyal customers. I really feel bad for a lot of people I know in business around town.
Anybody have any thoughts?

OBO's admin mouthpieces consistently say the stimulus is working...! Their explanation and logic...things aren't as bad as they would have been without the stimulus...also we must not forget the majority of the monies are only to be spent just before the 2010 elections. Even the diehard liberals are now opining 10% unemployment will be the new "norm." Also, and most troubling to me, the very realistic prediction based on the national debt explosion (even without OBOCARE) is that the next generation(s) can only excel to a level equivalent to two-thirds our current
status and average successes. What a sick legacy for such a great society!
The best case scenario is that the worst damage has been done. The worst case scenario will be socialized medicine, sellout of our independence via the global climate change scam,
and, the push for a global currency.
God help us!

Business has really slowed down all over. I have clients as far east as Augusta Ga. to as far west as Arizona. I know for a fact how bad the steel industries are suffering right now. All of my regular steel fabricators I detail for have laid off nearly 90% of their workers. I have been wondering myself why this stimulus package hasn't helped anything yet. One my new clients in Texas explained to me what he heard from his bank. Apparently only 6% of the money that was to be designated to construction has been released. 6 freaking percent. While families and business's are suffering. And I bet that’s what they are doing with all the stimulus. What will happen is they will probably wait close to election time to let the majority of it go out. That way the economy will make a quick little rise and therefore making the all powerful, never faltering, commander and chief look as if he really isn’t a pathetic, power hungry, socialist muslim, jack-azz!! And I mean that with the most respect possible..

I can tell you first hand that DOT is not getting much this year or next. I went to a DOT meeting for district three (that would be the panhandle) and they don't have much to spend next year. While there are some good projects coming out there will be so few that they will likely go at or below cost just to keep working. That will not do much for the economy when they take a job that cheap. Look for next year to be worse than this year!!!

Our state govt. has stolen our supposed stimulus monies.
what happened to "no Teacher will loose their job or take a pay cut"
State of Florida has stolen this money and we have several teacher's that have been laid off, and not a chance of getting any type of pay increase. talk is of pay reduction.....
only thing I can see that this stimulus package has done is ,,, hummm,,,
caused a lot of extreme hardship and even some suicides...
like the clunker junker deal.. at least it did take some OBAMA bumper stickers off the road.

Visited my 20th college reunion in upstate South Carolina this weekend. In comparison we are feeling but a touch of the drop here. Since they're not a gooberment dominant area, and instead manufacturing based, they're in far, FAR worse shape. MANY good, hard working, and intelligent friends/former neighbors have been laid-off and unemployed for months now.
Thank God for the 4 million jobs Obama's "saved" via trillions of Chinese driven debt dollars that will be repaid by our children and their children...

JT, your stimulus was in the form of a jumbo box of medimusal ... didn't it arrive? Didn't it move you? Ergo, weren't you stimulated?

Did you guys really and truly believe that the bloated package of liberal pork barrel was going to stimulate anything other than the prostrate glan of George Soros? This bunch of clowns thought the economy was heading back up on its own and used it as an excuse to pass a spending bill for every liberal idea since the Republicans took control of the Congress. Now the economy was not on the way back up, the treasury is broke and this bunch is clueless as to what needs to happen.
