Zippers

Post by flogator »

Can someone recommend a a 3700 tackle storage system that the zippers do not corrode on. I have tried several and over time the zippers corroded shut and broke. I tried to use a wal-mart cooler for soft plastics that lasted about 2 months. I am going to a hardcase box to store the plastics. I also tried one of those 'soft plastic bidders' the binders split after about 1 year. There must be something that works, the zippers on my pants are continually doused with salt and they seem to work okay.

Look for bags with plastic zippers or brass( like your jeans). I have a Shimano bag I bought from Heath at South Georgia Outdoors that I've had for 4 years with no zipper problems. The cordura material is riped all to hell but the zippers are fine.

Similar to Bman's solution, I went down to Walmart and bought on of the black / grey storage containers, then stacked 5 smaller tackle storage boxes inside. It is water tight and also holds my GPS, pliers, etc. I am through fighting the saltwater corrossion on the tackle bags.
