Went underground today with Lil Chalk - he had a field trip to the caverns in Marianna today and I tagged along. Cool stuff - only saw one bat though.

My son let one go in there, a fart in a cave is a real no no.

Lots of kid memories there- I know we took at least 4 field trips over there while I was in school.

Chalk, did you learn the difference between a stalagmite, and stalactite (and don't cheat and google it)?

Good deal, Jim. The last field trip I was on to the caverns was in about 1956. I'd say, it's time to go again.

How many of JT's holes did you find down there???

Good shots. I used to help sponsor a cave exploring club at our jr. college. There were several caves we'd explore north of Marianna, (not public) and one right near the campus of Chipola Jr. College. We also made several trips over to Climax Cave, between Bainbridge, Ga, and Climax, GA., (one of the best in the area) and one just north of Cairo. All fun but messy.
