Howdy all! Been a while, hope all is well.

I got a question, didn't know where to stick it so it ended up here. If it gets moved, let me know where please.

Yesterday a friend of mine was talking to a guy about fishing in local areas. This guy tells my buddy that you can find and harvest spiny lobster round these parts. Skeptical, he calls me to ask about it. I told him no I hadn't heard of that but that I would ask yall to make sure. So what gives, can you find and harvest spiny lobster here? if so, how and where?! Thanks!

Yes but their are deep and hard to come by. I saw one a couple years ago when diving off cape san blas in 80 feet.

They are few and far between in what I would call rec diving depths. Most are in 100 feet plus towards the middle grounds. You can get slippers quite often off Carrabelle though. They taste better in my opinion anyway.

10-4 thanks for the feedback. What are slippers? Are those the same as bulldozers?

We routinely found spiney lobster in the SE rocks area from 45' out to 60' whenever we would spearfish (haven't been in a while). I personally hauled out a 14 lb mutha! The tail was so wide, you couldn't grasp it with your hand!
