Trolling Reds

Post by Coastal Angler Mag »

This is my first post here so I figure I would make it a good one. So there was this one day ( this past Saturday ) a couple of friends and I went in serch of grouper we were going to do some trolling and had high hopes when we arrived at the dock. The weather was perfect seas were flat and tide was just right. We ran out to about 20 feet and let the lines out and within 5 minutes BAM a 46" red

We got reset and about the time I locked the drag here comes another

and another

next thing we know a school of very large red fish are all over the boat with lots of bonita in the mix, for every cast we got a fish

spent 3 hours on the water and finished the day with 9 reds from 49 to 35 inches and lots of bonita, 4 of the reds were caught on strech 20's looking for grouper the rest was what ever light tackle I had ready to throw. Went back on Sunday to go again and couldnt find em but we did get a few grouper but no pics on them.
Thanks and looking forward to many more
