The Obama administration is warning Congress that if it doesn't move to regulate greenhouse gases, the Environmental Protection Agency will take a "command-and-control" role over the process in way that could hurt business.

If Obama would just stay quiet, that would eliminate an enormous amount of hot air.

Empty threat, they don't have the regulatory authority to do that.

Actually, the Executive branch has done a lot over the last 10 years that they haven't had the authority to do, so your probably right.

I totally agree but since when did that ever stop anybody? All it took to give tax cheat Geithner control of the entire investment and banking economy and all bailout funds was one sentence in a very broad bill. Now OBO is talking about using 200 billion of "leftover" funds for something else and haven't heard from Geithner. OBO's threat to Congress over CO2 emission controls was not a choice....just paved the way for either/or but the bottom line is the same. Ironically, even if Congress passes the legislation it will still fall on EPA for enforcement and they already have a
open mandate to make changes as they see fit. The IRS has always been the most feared government agency but the EPA could replace them quickly.

Simple solution = not interested then don't read! Problem solved! Some of us who realize our world is in a state of uncertain turmoil and change and appreciate the opportunity
to discuss items here that potentially affect us all feel the OFF TOPIC section is the place to do so. I open threads quite often (in all forum sections) that really don't interest me but never question or
criticize anyone's right to post. Except where my kids, grands and greatgrand are concerned I have a thick old hide so just say you don't like my post and be done with it....that way I can respond in kind and follow my own advice, ie simple solution = not interested than don't read!
I make no apology for voicing my concern(s) as previously stated....I enjoy my lifestyle and I love my toys...regardless of CO2 concerns!

My comments were not aimed at any individuals, just a general comment and I do avoid the political threads when the label tells you whats in the tin, but when the title is ambiguous its not easy.
