I've been reading this forum for the last few weeks. I'm new to the saltwater thing but have enjoyed it so far. It's quite the challenge so maybe I can get a few pointers from all you veterans.

If you tell us generally where you are fishing I'm sure a few folks will chime in.
Generally he "best" started rig is gulp on a jig head under a cork. But we are entering a time when the fish are deeper or in the creeks/rivers.
Do you have a boat?

Newby - Feel free to come to one of the NFGFC Meetings at Beef O Brady's on Thomasville Rd. You will meet most of the folks that hang out on this forum in person and pick up lots of good info about the local area. We meet at 6:30 pm on the first Thurs. of each month.

If you let me know your coming, I can bring you some info to help you get started. As Bman mentioned above, it would help to know if you have a boat or not, since the boating spots, wading spots and kayak spots are all in different locations along the coast.

Hey guys, I'm pretty new here as well, and would like to meet you guys and get a few pointers as well. I mainly fish out of Econfina in a blue '02 Pathfinder. Keep me posted on the meetings.

First Thursday every month Beef O'Brady 1830 Thomasville rd. Tallahassee.
Most meetings feature guest speakers and most meetings are followed on Saturday with a club tournament with 50-70 anglers all fishing MY holes.

I do have a boat. 17 foot cobia. I am looking for a trolling motor if somebody has one for sale. I've been fishing some with the guy that sold it to me out of Ecofina and Panacea. I hop I get to come down in January. What town is the beef o' brady's in?
