Put in around 7:00am headed out. 35 mph at what felt like negative "holy crap"!!!! Headed west about 3 miles and hit a couple of creeks. After a short run to the back of one creek Pops gets a hit. Looks to be a mighty fine trout. At least 25" + .. Shakes his head about 4ft from the boat and there she goes. Free as a bird.
Poor guy.. Thought I might have to step down and console him for a min. Had it not been to cold to move. After fishing in and out of these creeks we headed back east towards the river and hit a few of spots. Finally around 12:30 Pops gets another hit and lands a nice 20" trout. My next cast after netting his fish I land a 25" trout. Pops next cast lands a 25" red. Once again after netting his red I cast and land a 20" red. All of a sudden I’m not cold any more. Heart rate pumping, fish pulling and drags a zinging!!!
Next cast I land another 20" red.
Have to let that one go since we already have our limit.
After a few more drifts up and down our creek I decided to pull out the long rod. Try my luck at slinging a bug or two. Not much luck there, spooked 2, missed one, and watched something fan at it. However still made for a good day.
Hung it up around 2:00 and headed home.
A few pictures for your viewing entertainment!!!!
