Hazardous Rocks at Econfina

Does anyone have or know where I can get the GPS coordinates for the underwater rocks and other obstructions that need to be avoided when fishing the flats around Econfina and Rock Island? I am somewhat of a new comer to the area and continue to hear horror stories about fishermen who have be towed in because they hit something with their boat even after years of fishing the area.
Thanks!

I agree with that post. They are every where. A rock guard is your best friend.

What about the rock that is about 1.5 to 2 miles out from the mouth of river that everyone talks about hitting?

Don't go more than 1 mile out and you will miss it.
You can follow me any time. I only run where it is safe.
I only hit 6 yesterday and I was drifting.

They used to have some at the mouth marked, but I'm not sure where they went. I kayak around there a lot too and i'll find a new one every now and then. I think they grow legs and move at night.

There isn't just one at the spot you are talking about. It is a literal "rock garden" there. If you are unfamiliar with the area I would advise that you idle around. We did that when we first started going there. The tides have A LOT to do with the rocks that you hit or not. Have fun with Econfina!

A Porter's rock guard would be a solid investment.

What rocks?
I only worry about
airplane parts!
I probably have about 150 "danger spots" in my GPS between Aucilla and Hickory Mound.....and I find new ones almost every time I go!

Yep. It is easier to mark the good spots to run than it is to mark rocks and bars.

I fish Spring Warrior and know it some I have done in a foot on on motor a skeg on another repeated prop damage holes in mutiple hulls and I have been scared to even try Ecofina I'm sure if I fished it for a decade or two I would get some idea of how to fish there. Get some one that knows it well and follow them that will get you out of the river if your lucky. after that its all trial and error.
