Anybody trying to fish Keaton/Spring Warrior tomorrow? I'm thinking of going but am real leary of the 20 mph SW winds and how they'll affect that area.

20 out of the SW is gonna kick your rear end. It'll be rough. Not to mention tons of fresh water from the rain. But you never know. Might be a banner day.

It ain't gonna be an easy day. I talked to a guide friend of mine (Capt. Edward Thomas) and the water temp was in the high 40's in the darker water.
If just gotta, then go but I don't think I spend much money on ice or bait.

If I went I wouldn't waste time on Trout I'd look for Mullet jumping and go for Reds Shimp on the bottom if you can find it.

You would prefer what? the water has been in the low 40s Cut Mullet or live Shrimp would be good bets they don't have to chase them. What did you have in mind?

I would go around looking for those dead mullet at the ramp. Bet those on a hook with no weight would be the ticket.

Appreciate the responses. We didn't go and I'm glad. Will try to sneak one more trip in before February but I'm really just ready for it to warm up. Does anyone know if Dallus Creek went off during that cold spell? I know they were in the Steinhatchee, but Dallus has been the cold water spot the past couple of years.

WAM, from what I was told by 1 of the best trout fisherman I know (not JT) a good slow sinking bait like a Catch 2000 was working like a charm. I would recommend a DOA shrimp over live or dead shrimp.

I heard from the same charter captian that Dallus Creek area had quite a few floaters down there.

WAM, you need to put the pipe down before you do some serious damage.
